REVIEWS
"Lots of good 7"s to get through this month, and so next up is washington DC's EXOSUS with their "Feed the Furnace" EP on Reptilian Records
(www.reptilianrecords.com). Winner of the best packaging concept of the year, the sleeve boasts a die-cut, razor blade, wrist-slashing gatefold that you're
just going to have to see for yourself to truly appreciate. And surprisingly the music is just as sharp; brutal metalcore that rises above the endless
chum of similar sounding bands with memorably ferocious riffing, brutal double-bass breakdowns, blast beats, and a few of those CONVERG-y extra measure
odd-time riffs that i can't get enough of. They've got some connection to CRISPUS ATTUCKS and THE INDEX too, and thats a good thing. Two good things."
-Elliot Lange, "Maximum Rock N Roll," Feb. 2005.
"This isn't normally something I'd Expect to see Reptilian pu out. The packaging looks really fucking nice, and includes a sort of die cut. Musically it's kind of heavy
on the mosh riffs at times, while at other times it goes into full on blast beats. The vox are for sure gruff and distorted. Its good I guess. Easy to see
that they are influenced from a few different apects of hardcore...from Tragedy to Converge."
-Nate Wilson, "Heartattack," #44.

REVIEWS
"McCarthyism Records sure has an ear for all sounds abrasive. Maryland's Exosus lay down three speaker burning, mind blistering tracks leaving no
time for you to think "holy shit." Everything is perfectly distorted and played considerably fast and on point, creating a sound I haven't enjoyed
since Spread the Disease. Keeping up to speed is Clancy Six, with threee songs of their own. A bit more bleak and callous,
these guys remind me of bands like Acrid. Bottom Line, this split rules and puts the new Converge album to shame."
-Mike Haley, "Heartattack," #44.
"Exosus play blistering metallic mayhem full of discordant guitars with just a hint of mathy tech possibilities. The vocals are screamy
and guttural in a blargy yelled way. Lots of high-end distortion, and over the top mettalic riffs putting this in a metalic hardcore direction.
Features members from Ochlocracy and Flowers in the Attic. While Exosus hint at blast beat manicness, Clancy 6 deliver,
taking a high end distortion even further, blasting the beats farther, while the vocals get even more gnarly taking this into a noisier direction.
a bit to much for me."
-Chris, "Slug and Lettuce," Autumn 2004.
